the people who make up the industry better. The Education committee makes up the foundation for RETA and we have a very strong foundation thanks to our dedicated committee members. From Edu- cation comes Certification and Chapters that build communities and new relation ships which collectively makes RETA what we are and have been for over 100 years the “ Gold Standard ”. The committee is made up of the Education Committee Chairman, and Education Coordinator, RAIs (RETA Autho rized Instructors), Engineers, Compliance personnel, End Users, Manufacturers, Operators, to novice personnel. It’s these different perspectives coming together with a common goal of developing the best material to train operating personnel in how to run systems safely and efficiently at the highest level that makes this work. Once a book has been drafted by the Edu- cation Committee it then goes through the

review committee, then the Education Chair and Coordinator and finally the current Board of Directors before it gets placed on the shelf. That book along with all of our books must be reviewed by the Education Com- mittee every 5 years for errors or updates from industry changes such as changes in Standards or improvements made as the industry evolves. RETA loves this industry, and we believe in what we do and the process in which we do it as it has been proven to work for many years. We are always looking for people who want to give back to this great industry by joining the Education Committee. RETA THE BOOKS OF MANY AUTHORS Reading RETA material never gets old to me and no matter how many times I have read through the books I can truly say I learn something new each time. It amazes me how well they are written and I’m honored to be a part of something that has had such a profound impact on the industry. Those of us who play a critical role in the develop ment of the material know how the process works but there are many who don’t under- stand, and so this is for those individuals. RETA is the Gold Standard in Industrial Refrigeration Training, but we did not achieve this by one individual. It’s truly been a group effort by many likeminded yet diverse people who care deeply about making the industry and more importantly
