Gold Standard in industrial refrigeration certification. No other internationally accredited programs in industrial refrigera tion exist anywhere in the world. Most candidates recertify based on docu menting Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for continuing education at RETA’s Annual Conference, in RETA Chapter meetings, and in other pre-approved training programs. Recertification candi dates submit required documentation online. Candidates also may recertify by passing the current examination. Reexami nation is required after a RETA credential expires. RECERTIFICATION MAINTAINS INDIVIDUAL & CORPORATE CREDIBILITY
Recertification of CARO, CIRO and CRST credentials is an important investment in maintaining individual and corporate credibility in industrial refrigeration. Seventy percent of RETA candidates who were scheduled to expire in 2023 extended or upgraded their credentials. RETA’s accreditation under ANSI 17024 Standards requires that CARO, CIRO or CRST must be renewed every three years to remain active. These programs also are expanding world-wide. Training of refrigeration operators and technicians using RETA materials expanded into Australia several years ago. Work also has begun that may lead to expansion of
RETA-supported training into Africa and Europe. RETA makes recertification attractive by reducing costs substantially for RETA members. Each of these factors contrib ute to keeping CARO, CIRO and CRST the
