A common myth is that candidates with scores of 65 to 69 missed earning their RETA credential by just a few questions. RETA’s Certification Committee (CertComm) sets a standard for passing each test based on what operators and technicians should know to keep themselves and everyone near a refrigeration facility safe. NO CANDIDATE EVER FAILS A RETA EXAM BY MISSING ONLY ONE QUESTION. CertComm evaluates the difficulty of EACH QUESTION on CARO, CIRO and publication of new editions of the books that support each test lead to changes in questions on an exam. CARO requires understanding how industrial refrigeration systems and facilities work but no operating CRST. Passing score studies are conducted every few years after
