3.b. Returning a Configuration “B” to Normal Operation

STEP/ACTION

COMMENT

1. Confirm Task #2.b. Oil Draining Configuration “B” or Task #2.a. Oil Draining Configuration “A” has been completed. 2. Notify all affected departments and personnel about the operation to be performed. Notify all affected employees of your intention to remove the lockout and test the equipment including: Plant personnel, Contractors and Visitors.

Plant Personnel, Contractors and Visitors should be trained on the dangers associated with ammonia, including early exposure detection techniques. Refer to the PPE Assessment for Mechanical Repair for a list of appropriate PPE. If valve “A” is open, this is an indication of an incorrect procedure. See your supervisor before continuing.

3. Don Personal Protective Equipment.

4. Confirm that valve “A” is closed.

5. Confirm that valve “B” is closed. 6. Reinstall plug into valve “B”. 7. If appropriate utilize “Startup after PROLONGED or Maintenance Shut Down”.

8. Log “Startup after PROLONGED or Maintenance Shut Down” in Master Maintenance Log and Daily Rounds Log.

9. Go to Task #4 “Concluding Non-Standard Oil Draining Procedure”.
