Introducing RINAA: A New RETA Network for Connection, Access, and Growth for African Americans By Charlotte Hodgson-Carter and Narada Jackson, P.E.

RINAA is a place to connect, grow and support one another. Whether you're just getting started or have years of experience, your presence and voice matter here. We’ll be hosting a meeting at the RETA National Conference this October to provide more details about RINAA. Charlotte Hodgson-Carter is a sales and marketing representative for Isotherm Inc. To foster a strong, engaged community for African Americans in the industrial refrigeration and HVACR industries; To provide mentorship, education, and professional development resources to support career growth and leadership pathways; To increase awareness and visibility of career and business opportunities across the field; and To serve as a bridge between the industry and the broader African American community through outreach and education.

Over the years, we’ve recognized the need for more representation and visibility for African Americans within the RETA organization and throughout the industrial refrigeration and HVACR industry as a whole. It became clear that if we wanted to see change, we needed to do something about it. So, we came together, shared our experiences, and put our hearts and minds into building something meaningful. The result of that is RINAA, the RETA Inclusion Network for African Americans. This is a new professional community whose purpose is to foster connection, provide access and support growth for African American professionals in every part of this industry. RINAA is here to connect individuals with shared passion and purpose. This group was created to bring people together, open doors, and help more professionals thrive in all stages of their careers.
