4. Read each question and all the answers carefully BEFORE selecting an answer. Each question includes one BEST answer and three incorrect answers that appear to be correct to candidates who do not read the question and all four answers carefully or do not fully understand the question. Plausible wrong answers are required in all valid certification examinations to separate candidates who meet the qualifications for a credential from those who do not understand what is being asked or how to use the information in the references for that test.

cited here scored 65% or less in Safety on all six of his CARO exams. Five of his CARO Safety scores were between 40% and 55%. Similar patterns exist for CARO, CIRO and CRST candidates. The following steps may help many RETA candidates earn these credentials more easily: 1. Take the Practice Test under the same

ten content areas on his final CARO Practice Test than on his two other passing practice test scores. The most important objective of the practice tests is to help each candidate prepare to earn the intended credential. This candidate’s CARO Practice Test scores included several indications of marginal mastery that were confirmed by his full CARO scores. Just 22% of his content area scores on the full CARO exam were at least 70%, and eight of these were 71% or less. More effective use of Practice Tests may help this candidate and many others pass their full RETA exams. The best use of Practice Tests is to duplicate the security and testing conditions of their full RETA exams . This includes learning how and when to use the CARO, CIRO or CRST References that appear onscreen next to questions during the test. For example, many Safety questions are answered in the SDS in the References, but the candidate

security conditions as a full test. No books or materials other than the onscreen references are permitted during the test.

2. Review instructions for use of

References for the test in the first few pages of the References. This information also appears in the Study Guide for each test. 3. Use the References to master finding and applying information, formulas and tables to answer questions in the test.
